Vietnam women's national football team ((ベトナム語:Đội tuyển bóng đá nữ quốc gia Việt Nam)) is a female football team representing Vietnam and controlled by Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). The team is currently ranked 33rd in the world, 7th in Asia and 2nd in South East Asia by FIFA (September 2015). The Vietnam women's national football team has become the most powerful team in Southeast Asia since 2000. They have finished seven times in the group stages of the AFC Women's Asian Cup 1999, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2014, have won the AFF Women's Championship 2006 and 2012. They have also won four gold medals in the SEA Games 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2009. ==History== In 2005, the country was one of seven teams that included Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, East Timor, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Burma and Singapore, that were expected to field a women's football team to compete at the Asian Games in Marikina in December.
